Minister Of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi: Budget Efficiency Doesn't Mean Important Activities Are Not Implemented

JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi emphasized that the government's budget efficiency will not have an impact on activities that are considered important.

This was conveyed by Prasetyo in response to the plan to recruit regional heads which was held in the midst of saving the ministry/institutional budget.

"Look, efficiency does not mean that activities are important, it is necessary. Then it is not implemented, it is not like that," said Prasetyo when met by reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday, February 1.

According to him, it is important to carry out a retret of regional heads in order to coordinate the work between the central government and local governments.

Prasetyo assessed that this retreat would use funds from the state budget (APBN) through the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

"We want to unite, here, between the central government and the provincial and district governments," he said.

Previously, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto said regional heads would take part in the retreat after a week of their inauguration. Activities will start early next week.

"Most likely (regional head series) in Magelang. Maybe about a week after the inauguration," Bima told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 23.

The retreat, continued Bima, would be carried out for more than a week. The KPK will later be involved to be a material filler.

"It is certain that the material will be later, one of which is the eradication of corruption from KPK friends," he said.
