JAKARTA - Minister of Law (Menkum) Supratman Andi Agtas said the Indonesian side would provide information in Singapore court regarding the arrest of fugitive from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Paulus Tannos.

This was conveyed by Supratman when asked about the progress of the extradition of the suspect in the corruption case in the procurement of electronic identity cards (e-KTP) who were arrested by the Singaporean authorities. Initially, the Gerindra Party politician said Paulus was filing a lawsuit in a local court regarding his arrest.

"We have to apply for extradition, then now there is a lawsuit filed by the person concerned, a kind of pretrial to test the validity of his arrest," Supratman told reporters at the Parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday, February 1.

"And we as the party that will ask for extradition must of course provide information to the court," he continued.

In addition to providing information, there are also documents that must be submitted to the Singapore court and are being prepared.

The document, continued Supratman, is believed to be completed next week. "That's why we are preparing the documents for the time being," he said.

Supratman asked the public to be patient regarding the extradition process. He said so far there have been no obstacles encountered regarding the extradition of Paulus Tannos.

"There are no (constraints, ed). It's just a matter of time, this has procedurals. There is a mechanism, especially specifically with Singapore," he said.

"Once again I say, this is the first time the implementation of an extradition treaty between the Indonesian government and the Singapore government. This is the first time," said Supratman.

Previously reported, Paulus Tannos, who is the President Director of PT Sandipala Arthapura, was finally arrested by Singaporean authorities after being on the wanted list since 2021. He was named a suspect in the corruption case in the procurement of electronic identity cards (e-KTP) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in 2019.

At that time he was named by the KPK as a suspect along with three other people, namely Isnu Edhi Wijaya as the former President Director of the Indonesian State Printing Corporation (PNRI); 2014-2019 DPR RI member Miryam S Haryani; and former Head of the Information Technology Technical Team for the Application of e-KTP Husni Fahmi.
