Indonesian U-20 Vs India U-20 National Team: Young Garuda 4-0 Gol Party

The U-20 Indonesian national team won a landslide over India in the last test match against India U-20 (Instagram/@timasindonesia).

JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team managed to win in the last match of the Mandiri U-20 Challenge Series 2025. Facing India U-20, Indra Sjafri's team won a landslide victory with a score of 4-0.

In the match which took place at the Gelora Delta Stadium, Sidoarjo, Thursday, January 30, 2025, WIB night, the opening goal for the U-20 Indonesian national team was created through Toni Firmansyah.

Through a hard kick from near the penalty box, he was able to bring the U-20 Indonesian national team 1-0 up to India in the fourth minute.

In the 19th minute, Toni again had a chance with a shot from outside the penalty box. However, the ball can still be blocked by the Indian goalkeeper, Karan Makkar.

The threat was again given by Garuda Muda from outside the penalty box in the 25th minute. This time a horizontal hard shot was released by Dony Tri Pamungkas who headed into the corner of the goal, but the opposing goalkeeper could still thwart it.

The pressure continues to be exerted by Indonesia which forced India to survive. Another chance was obtained through Jens Raven, but the Indian goalkeeper was able to thwart the golden opportunity again.

Until halftime, the 1-0 advantage for the U-20 Indonesian national team did not change.

Continuing to the second half, Ragil gave Indonesia U-20 a 2-0 lead when it had only been running for two minutes. Ragil's shot which was directed into the corner of the goal from inside the penalty box successfully broke into the Makkar goal.

Ragil then wasted an opportunity to put Garuda Muda 3-0 up in the 59th minute. Jens Raven's cross from the right was met by Ragil's flick which ended wide on the right side of India's goal.

A minute later Ragil paid off his failure. He was able to score the second goal using Toni Firmansyah's throwing ball. The score changed to 3-0.

In the 77th minute, it was Iqbal Gwijangge's turn to go up to help the attack also put his name on the scoreboard. Iqbal's flick took advantage of the situation from a corner to make India's net shake again.

India can press continuously in a situation that is 0-4 behind. On the other hand, Indonesia U-20 can still dominate the game, but cannot add more goals.

The U-20 Indonesian national team ended the match with a 4-0 victory over India which was also the first victory of Indra Sjafri's troops at the Mandiri U-20 Challenge Series.

Previously, Garuda Muda was beaten by Jordan U-20 (0-1) and Syria U-20 (0-2) in a mini tournament which was a series of preparations ahead of the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup.

The U-20 Indonesian national team will fight in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup in mid-February 2025. In the tournament held in China, Garuda Muda is in Group C with Uzbekistan, Iran, and Yemen.
