JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 1 Jakarta canceled a number of train trips (KA) for departure on 3-5 February 2025 due to overflowing water on the rail line on the Semarang-Surabaya route.

The Public Relations Manager of KAI for Operational Areas (Daop) 1 Jakarta, Ixfan Hendriwintoko, said that two train departures from Gambir Station were canceled, namely KA 2A Argo Anggrek, Gambir-Surabaya Pasar Turi relation, which departed at 08.20 WIB.

Then, KA 42 Sembrani Gambir-Surabaya Pasar Turi relation departs at 19.30 WIB.

In addition, KAI also canceled train trips that arrived at Gambir Station, namely KA 1 Argo Anggrek Surabaya relation Pasar Turi-Gambir which arrived at 16.55 WIB and KA 39 Sembrani Surabaya relation Pasar Turi-Gambir which arrived at 16.20 WIB.

"KAI provides several options for affected passengers. One of them is the return of 100 percent ticket duties (excluding booking fees)," he said in an official statement in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, February 2.

Another option is to reset travel times without additional fees, according to the availability of seating on other schedules.

The overflowing water or flood that disrupted the train (KA) journey was on the rail line at Km 32.5/7 between Karangjati Station and Gubug Station, Grobogan Regency, Central Java.

For the safety of the trip, the route has been temporarily closed since Friday, January 24, 2025 at 22.25 WIB and is currently still in the repair stage.

Currently hundreds of infrastructure officers have been deployed complete with heavy equipment and other supporting materials to speed up lane recovery. "KAI also continues to coordinate with related parties so that this route can be reused immediately," said Ixfan.
