Cristiano Ronaldo Joking: My Son Prefers Kylian Mbappe Than Me

JAKARTA - Cristiano Ronaldo may be the best for many fans around the world of football.

However, not everyone at home agrees. The Portuguese superstar admits that his own son prefers Real Madrid player, Kylian Mbappe.

Ronaldo scored four goals in Al Nassr's last three games in the Saudi Arabian Pro League, all of which led to victory.

The score saw the 39-year-old move up to the top of the list of Saudi Arabia's Pro League goalscorers with a total of 15 goals, with a difference of two goals from Karim Benzema.

However, it was not enough to impress the five-year-old Mateo with his father.

In a quote from an interview with La Sexta, Ronaldo admitted the French player had surpassed him in his son's eyes.

"Mateo, he really likes Mbappe. He sometimes says to me, 'Hey dad, Mbappe is better than you.'"

I answered by saying, 'No, I'm better than him, I've scored more goals.'"

Mbappe, known to idolize Ronaldo in his youth, began imitating several of his achievements at Bernabeu in recent weeks following his prominent move from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

After a hat-trick against Real Valladolid on Sunday, January 26, 2025, Mbappe has now scored 15 goals in La Liga.

He is in second place in the Pichichi (top score) race, behind Robert Lewandowski (17 goals) from Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo set a club record of 450 goals for Los Blancos between 2009 and 2018.
