JAKARTA - Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti said the government ratified decisions related to learning during Ramadan for school children next week.

"God willing, it will be finished next week. Because the draft has been completed," he said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 17.

The Minister of Education and Culture said that later the government's decision was marked by the signing of a joint decree (SKB) of three ministers, namely the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), and the Minister of Religion (Menag).

When asked about the mechanism between distance learning from home or school learning for learning during Ramadan, Abdul Mu'tienggan further leaked the details.

"Wait until the circular comes out. Just be a little patient," he said.

Mendikdas straightened out the government's decision regarding the learning of Indonesian students during Ramadan, namely regulating learning during the fasting month, not regarding school holidays during the holy month.

"The language is not a Ramadan holiday, yes. Because someone wrote Ramadan holidays. The language is learning in the month of Ramadan," he said.

According to him, this needs to be straightened out because his party did not give a statement regarding holidays for school children during Ramadan 1446 Hijri.

However, the news circulating at this time mentions what the government is discussing as a Ramadan holiday for school children.

"Don't use the word holiday. There is no statement of Ramadan holiday. Learning in the month of Ramadan," said Abdul Mu'ti.

In preparing the decision, the Ministry of Education and Culture coordinated with four other ministries, namely the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK), the Ministry of Religion, the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), and the Presidential Staff Office (KSP).

According to him, there has been an agreement between the ministries and the institutions.

"There has been a mutual agreement. Just wait for the joint circular to be issued," said Abdul Mu'ti.
