Rudi Valinka Alias @ Kurawa Inaugurated As Stafsus Komdigi, Meutya Hafid Admits He Doesn't Know

JAKARTA - The Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), Meutya Hafid, admitted that she did not know that one of the special staff she had just appointed, Rudi Sutanto, was social media activist Rudi Valinka, who is known as the Twitter account (now X) @kunawa.

On Monday 13 January, Meutya Hafid inaugurated five director generals as well as a number of expert staff and special staff within the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs.

One of those who were inaugurated was Rudi Sutanto as Special Staff to the Minister for Communication Strategic Affairs, together with Aida Rezalina and Raline Rahmat Shah.

"I don't know. Rudi Sutanto, who I know, Rudi Sutanto. So, I don't want to speculate about who Rudi Sutanto is," Meutya said, quoted from ANTARA.

Meutya explained that based on the life history (CV) received, Rudi Sutanto has a background and expertise in the field of communication strategies.

He said that Rudi Sutanto's inauguration is expected to strengthen the Ministry of Communication and Digo, which is not only focused on the digital sector, but also on the aspect of strategic communication.

"From the CV we received, he is indeed an expert in communication strategies. His presence in this ministry will color the field of communication which is an important part other than digital," said Meutya.

Rudi Valinka, who is known through the @kurawa X account, is the author of A Man Called #Ahok and is often a topic of conversation on social media. His digital footprint, including controversial tweets, is now in the public spotlight after his inauguration.

When asked for a response regarding the suspicion that Rudi Sutanto was Rudi Valinka, Meutya admitted that she did not participate in the social media activity.

"I don't know. I also don't really play Twitter (X). So, I can't comment further," Meutya said as she left the location for her car.

Rudi Sutanto's inauguration sparked discussions among netizens, especially regarding his background as a social media activist. Many have questioned the relevance of this appointment with strategic tasks at the Ministry of Communication and Industry.

This inauguration is in the public spotlight and opens discussions on transparency and the selection process for officials within the government.
