Jepara Police Chief AKBP Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan revealed that the shooting case of a madrasa teacher in Jepara Regency, Central Java, is still being processed.

"The results of the inspection at the Criminal Investigation Unit are still being processed. Even if there are mediation efforts, of course, outside the investigation process. If the families of the perpetrators and victims establish communication, go ahead," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 6.

The suspect in the shooting of MMR, a resident of Gemiring Lor Village, Nalumsari District, Jepara Regency, is still being detained by the Jepara Police.

Meanwhile, the shooting victim, Eko Hadi Susanto (43), a resident of Buaran Village, Mayong District, Jepara admitted that he had forgiven the perpetrators of MMR.

"As a student of Mbah Mun Balekambang, of course I have forgiven the perpetrators, but the legal process must be enforced fairly in order to provide a deterrent effect for the person concerned," he said.

He said the perpetrator's parents also came to his residence to express his regret for the incident, and apologized to his son MMR and promised to replace the burning motorbike.

"At that time I had said that I had forgiven, but the legal process should continue to run in order to provide a deterrent effect," he said.

The victim was also visited by the caretaker of the Ngopi Council An Nahdloh Dr. KH. Nasrullah Affandi who is also the head of the Nahdlatul Ulama (Pergunu) Teachers Association.
