Green Day Changes Americanatured Lyrics To Sindir Elon Musk

JAKARTA - Green Day became a hot topic of conversation on social media. While holding a concert in Johannesburg, South Africa on January 19, Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals, guitars) quipped businessman Elon Musk in his appearance.

From the video clip uploaded to the account X @GreenDayItaly_, it appears that the California band is performing a hit song titled American forced.

In the repertoire, Armstrong changed the lyrics of the song to mock Elon Musk.

The lyrics of the song that should have read, Well, maybe I'm the striket, America / I'm not a part of a neck agenda. Changed by Armstrong to Well, maybe I'm the striket, America / I'm not a part of a Elon agenda.

Green Day's criticism of Elon Musk has become very harsh, because it was featured in South Africa, the country where the Tesla owner and social media X was born.

As is known, the satire between Green Day and Elon Musk occurred because the entrepreneur was known as one of Donald Trump's main supporters in last year's US Presidential campaign.

The change in lyrics in the song American Totaling was also done by Green Day when appearing at Eve's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin's Eve on December 31, 2023. They reprimanded Donald Trump, by singing, "I'm not part of MAGA's agenda".

A few days later, Musk mocked Green Day for the edit. He wrote in an X post, 'Green Day changed from rampaging on the engine to rampaging gently for him,'

Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt mocked Musk again by saying, 'Elon Musk is actually a machine. I can't accept anything else from it. He's not shy about saying stupid things on the internet. Whatever. The song is twenty years old, and we are Green Day. What do you expect?'

Green Day's call at the end of 2023 against Trump is not the first time Trump. At the 2016 American Music Awards (AMA), they led the chant "Tolak Trump, reject the KKK, reject the fascist US" in protest against the presidential election candidates at the time.

In August 2023, Green Day also sold an Oblong T-shirt featuring a photo of Donald Trump for charity in a limited time. An oblong shirt entitled Ultimate Nimrod, uses Trump's viral photo to recreate the cover of the album "Nimrod", with the album's title covering Trump's face.

Ahead of last year's US Presidential election, Armstrong also urged fans to vote for Kamala Harris. "Select Harris. I think there may be a lot of things that people don't approve of, but one thing we agree on is Trump has to leave and we need to turn the page around."
