JAKARTA - The Musi Cruise tour boat on the Musi River has become a favorite for school children during the 2025 Chinese New Year holiday in Palembang City, South Sumatra (Sumsel).

Hundreds of elementary, junior high, and high school students in Palembang City, Tuesday, January 28, filled a tourist boat sailing along the Musi River which was split by the Ampera Bridge, which became the icon of the oldest city in Indonesia.

"Yes, we deliberately invited the children to enjoy this Musi Cruise tour boat to see the view of the Musi River and Ampera Bridge in Palembang City, coincidentally, it was a Chinese New Year and Isra Mi'raj holiday," said Joni, an elementary school teacher in Palembang, who was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the children like sailing on the tourist boat provided by the Palembang City Government and the cheap ticket price of only Rp. 5,000 can sail along the Musi River.

He hopes that the ship can continue to sail and become an attraction for tourists, even the Palembang City Government can add more units of the Musi Cruise ship because currently there is only one tourist boat.

A high school student in Palembang, Ridho admitted that he and his friends were enthusiastic and did not escape his cellphone camera to enjoy the beauty of the Musi River and the Ampera Bridge in Palembang City.

Previously, the Acting Head of the Palembang City Transportation Service, Agus Supriyanto, in Palembang, asked tourists not to litter, let alone throw garbage into the Musi river.

He added that the Musi Cruise ship can accommodate up to 100 passengers or tourists and will sail to the Musi river after the passengers contain only IDR 5,000 ticket prices.

Tourists can get tickets to ride the tourist boat in sungaiok in the courtyard area of the big city fort because currently the usual dock at the ship's dock is also making repairs.
