First Oscar Nomination, Ariana Grande Celebrates With Ethan Slater

JAKARTA - Ariana Grande got her first Oscar nomination this year. Acting as Glinda in the film Wicked made her compete with various big names in the film industry.

Shortly after the announcement, actor Ethan Slater shared a photo of Ariana Grande from behind. Grande is seen standing in front of a balcony window in London in a room.

The 31-year-old singer was seen wearing an oversized T-shirt with several pink balloons she was holding. Slater uploaded the photo without information and re-shared it by Grande on his Instagram account.

Ariana Grande also made posts with some flashbacks when she wore Dorothy's costume from Wizard of Oz and sang the song Defying Gravity as a teenager.

"Trying to calm the head in the midst of emotion to say thank you very much to @theacademy for this nomination. I can't stop crying," wrote Ariana Grande.

"I'm very honored and proud to be able to share with the little ari who sat down and learn howuan Garland sang somewhere Over the Rainbow before the big bubble arrived. I'm very proud of you," he said.

"Thank you again from the bottom of your heart for this nomination," concluded Ariana Grande.

Ariana Grande was nominated for Best Supporting Actress to compete with Monica Barbario from A Complete Unknown, Maria Jones from The Brutalist, Isabella Rossellini from Conclave and Zoe Saldana from Emilia Perez.

Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba, also received a Best Actress nomination.

Wicked, directed by Jon M. Chu, managed to get 10 nominations, making this film one of the titles with the most acquisitions following Emilia Perez and The Brutalist.
