JAKARTA - The Fisheries Product Quality Control and Supervision Agency (KKP) has carried out a ball pick-up system to ensure the implementation of Good Fish Handling Methods (CPIB) on board, in order to maintain the quality and nutritional value of fish after being caught.
"Especially for fishing activities, we have prepared a Good Fish Handling Certificate or CPIB on board to maintain the quality and nutritional value of fish after being arrested," said Head of the Ishartini KKP Muti Agency, in Jakarta, Saturday.
He said that the quality of raw materials upstream will affect the final product which has an impact on the quality, safety and acceptance of fishery products.
"The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries emphasizes the importance of fishery quality starting from upstream," he said.
In implementing CPIB on a fishing boat, Ishartini said his staff moved to business actors to carry out inspections using direct observation methods, interviews with crew members, and inspection of related documents.

Regarding the quality and safety guarantee of fishery products, the KKP Quality Body continues to provide services during the Isra Mikraj and Chinese New Year holidays.

He said that this was a follow-up to requests for CPIB certification from business actors in the field of capture fisheries before sending their catch to UPI which exports to the European Union market.
Ishartini also invites business actors to always maintain the quality of fishery products.
He emphasized that the KKP Quality Agency is always ready to provide assistance, so that they can apply the standards that have been set, both by the government and buyers from export destination countries.
