JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir showcased a number of achievements that have been made by the Ministry of SOEs towards state-owned companies in the last five years.

On the asset side, Erick was able to increase its value from IDR 7,773 trillion in 2019 to IDR 10,402 trillion in 2023.
Then, continued Erick, BUMN consolidated assets increased by 7.6 percent per year. BUMN consolidated profit also increased from Rp 125 trillion in 2019 to Rp327 trillion in 2023.

On the other hand, Erick also explained that the current state of BUMN has shown positive performance, but there are still various challenges from the times, including geopolitical conditions to geoeconomics.
Therefore, Erick said that a transformation is needed in order to strengthen the performance of SOEs and management of SOEs through the BUMN draft law (RUU).
"The regulation of the BUMN Bill is expected to ensure that SOE management becomes more adaptive and modern, anticipating the dynamics and challenges ahead," said Erick.
