KPK Waits For Agustiani Tio's Communication That Claims He Can't Go To Treatment Because He Is Prevented From Going Abroad

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has invited former member of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Agustiani Tio Fridelina to contact investigators to convey their health condition.

This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika when asked about Agustiani Tio's complaint to Komnas HAM after being prevented from leaving the country.

The former convict of the bribery case said the ban prevented him from undergoing cancer treatment in Guang Zhou, China.

"Of course in the future, if there is a need for a health check, the person concerned should be able to be present to communicate with investigators and convey his needs," Tessa told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, February 4.

Tessa explained that her party was ready to discuss the steps that Agustiani could take.

"So that a solution can be found that is in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.

Investigators are said to be unaware of the conditions experienced by Agustiani. Tessa emphasized that there has never been any communication regarding the existing conditions.

"We also just found out because the prevention was only carried out on January 15. So the KPK has not communicated to the person concerned," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

Agustiani felt that the prevention abroad proposed by the KPK against her and her husband was unfair. Therefore, she went to the Komnas HAM office with her attorney on Monday, February 3.

According to him, the prevention abroad prevented him from being able to treat the cancer he was suffering from. In fact, Agustiani should undergo health care in China.

"I have to come back again on February 17 for the operation that was in my intestines because it is feared that it will become the forerunner of cancer again," Agustiani told reporters at the Komnas HAM office, Monday, February 3.

"Well, I didn't know I got a call to testify in December. Then I came, I attended on January 6 and January 8", he continued.

Agustiani said his condition was not even fit at that time. However, he remained cooperative by testifying before investigators regarding the Harun Masiku case.

However, Agustiani was prevented from going abroad for treatment. He considered this condition to hinder the treatment.

It didn't stop there, Agustiani also highlighted the prevention abroad of her husband. She was surprised by the move.

"Suddenly at home there was a letter of delinquency against me and my husband, my husband had never even been a witness, you know. What's wrong with him? Is it even wrong if his wife is guilty and her husband must also be punished? My husband didn't follow anything, you know, why suddenly he was banned, instead it became a question," he said.

Regarding this complaint, Komnas HAM said the follow-up would be carried out. They will prioritize existing standard procedures and do not rule out the possibility of communicating with the KPK.

"The first Komnas HAM we respect the legal process carried out by the KPK and secondly we have received the complaint and we will first study the material for the complaint and the application from Mrs. Tio and her attorney to Komnas HAM," said Komnas HAM Commissioner Uli Parulian Sihombing at the location.

"We are to follow up on this complaint in accordance with the existing SOP, we will first enter this field of complaint to study the substance and later we will determine the next steps," he concluded.
