JAKARTA - Head of the Banten Province Ombudsman Representative Fadli Afriadi said there was an attempt to control the sea space in Tangerang waters by making a fence out of bamboo.
This was conveyed by Fadli in a press conference on the alleged waiver of legal obligations related to the construction of the Banten sea fence today, Monday, February 3.
He conveyed that the strong indication arose because of a request for document issuance in Kohod Village, Pakuhaji District, Tangerang Regency.
"We believe there are strong indications that the existence of this sea fence is in the context of efforts to control the sea space," Fadli said in an Indonesian Ombudsman YouTube broadcast, Monday, February 3.
Fadli said there were 263 plots of land in Kohod Village whose documents were published and 50 of them had been revoked through the contrahious actus mechanism.
"The same party or the same institution that submitted it, re-submitted 1,415 or almost 1,500 hectares, which was based on the map given, the outer end of which they submitted was exactly the same as the sea fence," he said.
"So we believe that the emergence of this sea fence has a very strong correlation with the application for rights at sea, which is how to raise the status of the girik to the same land as what happened in Kohod," continued Fadli.
Fadli also explained that there was a letter stating that the party was building a barrier in the form of a bamboo cone. "This makes identification easier. We are discussing this identification as a measurement because if not, how to measure it," he said.
"We believe that there are strong indications between this submission. And the connection between the first and second submissions. The first submission in Kohod that has been issued, the second submission, although BPN said that the letter had not yet been submitted, the process to the KKP has been carried out, yes, it has been done asking whether there is a sea area or not," said Fadli.
Thus, the Ombudsman urged law enforcement officials to follow up on criminal indications. "It must be investigated again because this involves 16 villages out of 6 sub-districts that submit letters for measurement and installation to be carried out in marine areas or not," he explained.
