TNI AD Personnel Allegedly Committed The Murder Of Their Girlfriend In South Tangerang, Named As Suspects

TANGERANG An individual member of the Indonesian Army (AD) with the initials Pratu TS was officially named a suspect on suspicion of the murder of his girlfriend, Novi, on Jalan Bonjol, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang (Tangsel).

"It's true, he has been named a suspect," said Kapendam Jaya, Colonel Inf Deki R Putra, when confirmed on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

Deki explained that currently Pratu TS is still undergoing in-depth examination at the Jaya 1 Tangerang Military Police Detachment (Denpom) to reveal the motive for the murder.

"Military Police (Pom) investigators continue to carry out intensive examinations to explore the motives and other aspects related to the actions committed," he added.

Currently, Pratu TS has been detained in Denpom Jaya 1 Tangerang for further legal proceedings.

This murder case was revealed after Pratu TS was reported absent from duty since January 19. The authorities then conducted a search until finally managed to arrest him in Medang, Tangerang Regency, on Tuesday, January 28.

"From his unit, a search was carried out for Pratu TS, and finally he was arrested in the Medang area," he said.

After an examination, it was discovered that during his escape, Pratu TS was suspected of molesting the victim and causing death.

"From the results of the examination, it was obtained information that while leaving the unit, the suspect committed acts of violence or mistreatment of his female colleagues which resulted in death," he explained.

On that basis, Pratu TS is now undergoing a legal process in Denpom Jaya 1 Tangerang, while the TNI has also coordinated with the South Tangerang Police.

"Oknum anggota yang bersangkutan sudah ditahan di Denpom Jaya 1 Tangerang untuk pemeriksaan lebih lanjut. Pihak TNI juga telah berkoordinasi dengan Polres Tangerang Selatan," tutupnya.
