JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said reports regarding the determination of the Certificate of Ownership (SHM) and Building Use Rights (HGB) for sea fences 30.16 kilometers (km) would be followed up.

This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika when asked about the presence of former KPK chairman Abraham Samad and a number of activists who are members of the civil society coalition at the Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, January 31. The investigation into the report submitted will be carried out.

"Initial information conveyed in the forum will certainly be enrichment for us at the KPK for further verification and analysis," Tessa told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, January 31.

As for the meeting, Tessa said that the civil society coalition was met directly by the KPK leadership. Appreciation was also given to them.

"KPK expresses its gratitude and appreciation for this meeting, as our commitment to cooperate with all elements of society in eradicating corruption," he said.

"Because public trust and support are important for effective and real impact in eradicating corruption for the community," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.

As previously reported, the civil society coalition complained about allegations of corruption related to the validity of the issuance of certificates of property rights (SHM) and building rights (HGB) related to the sea fence. Entrepreneur Sugianto Kusuma alias Aguan was reported.

"It is strongly suspected that Agung Sedayu Group and its subsidiaries are doing it. Therefore, we ask the KPK not to worry about calling people who feel they are strong all this time, namely Aguan," said former KPK chairman Abraham Samad to reporters after holding a closed meeting with the KPK leadership for the period 2024-2029.

Samad believes that there is a conspiracy that refers to acts of corruption from the issuance of SHM and HGB which Aguan pocketed. The KPK is expected to follow up on the complaint by summoning the entrepreneur.

"Because this name seems to be created a myth that he is not touched by the law. Therefore, we want to encourage the KPK so that this person is immediately examined," said Samad.
