Pertamina Emphasizes 3 Kg LPG Only For Pre-Welfare RTs

JAKARTA - Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi reminded again that the 3 kg subsidized Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is only intended for pre-sesejahtera households (RT).

"In addition to pre-prosperous, it is also for micro-enterprises, target fishermen, and target farmers in accordance with the rules set by the Directorate General of Oil and Gas (Dirjen Migas) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM)," said Area Manager Communication, Relation & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi, Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw, in Manado, quoted from ANTARA, Monday, January 25, 2025.

He emphasized that Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi is committed to implementing government policies related to subsidized energy distribution.

"We continue to disseminate and monitor together with local governments and Hiswana Migas, so that the distribution of 3 kg LPG is in accordance with its designation," he said.

The participation of Law Enforcement Officials (APH) and local governments is very important in monitoring distribution, so that subsidized LPG can be used by people who are truly entitled.

"If abuse is found, then we will cooperate with the authorities to follow up," said Fahrougi.

Fahrougi also appealed to people who are entitled to receive subsidies to register with the official base according to the specified mechanism.

As part of a more targeted distribution policy, the government has regulated the use of 3 kg LPG in the Regulation of the Director General of Oil and Gas which stipulates that consumers must be registered in a data-based system and make purchases using an ID card.

Based on Circular Letter from the Director General of Oil and Gas No.B-24461/MG.05/DJM/2022, there are 4 groups that have the right to enjoy 3 kg LPG, namely the Pre-Welfare Household, which is a low-economic level family that has been registered in the government subsidy system.

In addition, he said, there are micro-enterprises that are small-scale, such as street vendors, small food stalls, and MSMEs with limited LPG needs. In addition, there are Target Fishermen with a maximum size of 5 Gross Tonnage (GT) ships that use LPG for operational needs.

And finally there are Target Farmers who have a maximum land area of 2 hectares who use LPG for drying agricultural products and other necessities.

On the other hand, there are 8 groups that are not allowed to use 3 Kg LPG, namely hotel businesses, restaurants, laundry, tobacco farming businesses, livestock businesses, batik businesses, welding services and agricultural businesses outside the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 38 of 2019 and those that have not yet converted.

Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to coordinate with local governments and related institutions to ensure that the distribution of 3 kg LPG is right on target.

This effort is carried out by supervising distribution through a digital recording system and education to the public regarding the rights and obligations in the use of subsidized LPG.
