Komdigi Finds Alleged Hacking Efforts Against Information Data Centers And Facilities

JAKARTA - Director General of Digital Space Supervision of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Alexander Sabar announced an attempt to hack the Ministry of Communication and Industry's Information Data and Facilities Center (PDSI).

According to Alex, the Ministry of Communication and Trade is currently investigating allegations of hacking that has an impact on the leakage of employee internal data, even though the affected data is common.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Communication and Trade ensured that quick steps had been taken to maintain information security and reveal the party responsible for this incident.

"We have mitigated the alleged hacking, closed all security holes, and strengthened the cyber defense system," Alex said in his official broadcast quoted on Tuesday, February 4.

This investigation includes in-depth audits of PDSI infrastructure, risk mitigation, analysis of cyber attack patterns, and tracking of suspicious activity within the Ministry of Communication and Industry's network.

In addition, all units under the Ministry of Communication and Digi have been ordered to conduct an internal security audit and increase the response capacity to cyber incidents.

The Ministry of Communication and Industry emphasized that personal data protection is a top priority, in line with the implementation of Law no. 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (UU PDP).

The Ministry of Communication and Trade also appealed to the public to be more alert to potential misuse of personal data.

The Ministry of Communication and Trade is committed to continuing to strengthen national cyber security infrastructure and improve the quality of the security system in order to protect the personal data of the Indonesian people.
