JAKARTA - Within 100 working days, the Ministry of Communication and Digital managed to block 1,037,558 negative content, which was spread across the internet including 945,431 content from websites and 92,127 content on social media.
This negative content blocking is one of the main focuses of the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, in her 100-day work program since being inaugurated on October 20.
"We want to ensure that Indonesian children can grow up in a clean, safe and profitable digital space," Meutya said in her official statement on Thursday, January 30.
Not only that, in 100 days of his leadership, the Ministry of Communication and Industry has also taken down or blocked 882,352 content related to online gambling from various digital platforms.
Of the total content that has been blocked, 807,587 comes from the website and IP address, while the rest is spread on other social media platforms.
In addition to blocking, the Ministry of Komdigi is currently reviewing regulations to ensure the digital environment is safe for children.
President Prabowo Subianto has also asked the Minister of Trade to immediately resolve the rules so that the risk of children exposed to inappropriate content, digital exploitation, and privacy violations can be avoided.
