JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria stated that Indonesia has the challenge of a digital talent deficit as a result of the existence of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Citing data from the Communication and Digital Human Resources Development Agency, Nezar Patria stated that in 2030 Indonesia needed 9 million digital talents, but only about 6 million talents were able to supply.
Therefore, Nezar encourages graduates of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to be able to close the digital talent gaps that Indonesia will experience.
He also emphasized that the STEM graduates from this university will be one of the important pillars in presenting qualified digital talents in the country.
" STEM innovation is not only about technology, but also how we use technology to create solutions that are inclusive and sustainable. And affordable higher education is also an important pillar so that we can close the gap," said Nezar, quoted on Thursday, January 23.
