Ole Romeny Naturalization, Geypens Team, And Dion Markx Approved By The DPR Plenary Meeting

Ole Romeny's naturalization was approved by the DPR Plenary Meeting with Team Geypens and Dion Markx (Instagram/@oleromeny).

JAKARTA - The Naturalization of Ole Romeny, the Geypens Team, and Dion Markx continued to show positive progress after getting the green light again.

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, approval was also given at the 12th Plenary Meeting of the DPR RI Session II at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta.

This plenary session was opened and chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad. Then the chairperson of the meeting was continued by another Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, namely Adies Kadir.

The meeting continued with the submission of the agenda of the DPR RI's approval of the application for consideration of Ole Romeny's citizenship, Dion Markx, and the Geypens Team.

"According to the consultation meeting with the leadership meetings of the factions who assigned it to Commission X and XIII for discussion and then decided at the Plenary Meeting," said Adies Kadir.

"The results of the meeting of Commission X and XIII agreed to give Indonesian citizenship to Ole Romeny, Dion Markx, and Team Geypens. We ask for approval at this Plenary Meeting can be approved?" asked Adies Kadir added that he was immediately greeted with 'approval' by members of the DPR who attended the Plenary Meeting.

On the agenda of the working meeting of Commission X and XIII of the DPR RI with the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports and PSSI on Tuesday, February 3, 2025, it was stated that the request for consideration of granting citizenship to Ole Romeny, Dion Markx, and the Geypens Team had been approved.

By following the approval at the DPR RI Plenary Meeting, the naturalization documents of the three prospective Indonesian national team players will be submitted to the President of the Republic of Indonesia for the issuance of a Presidential Decree (Keppres) as a condition for taking the oath of Indonesian citizens.

The oath-taking of Indonesian citizens is planned to be carried out in London on February 8, 2025. This news was also revealed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo.

Ole Romeny's naturalization is needed to in the near future strengthen the Indonesian national team for the 2026 World Cup Qualification and 2027 Asian Cup.

Strikers 24 years are expected to be able to strengthen the Indonesian national team against Australia in Sydney, March 20, 2025.

Meanwhile Dion Markx and Team Geypens are needed to strengthen the defense at the center-back and left-back positions for the U-20 Indonesian national team.
