Atalanta BC Vs. Bologna Prediction: La Dea Prepares Surprise To Destroy Rosoblu

JAKARTA - The quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia this season, which features only top teams, will bring together Atalanta BC and Bologna at Gewiss Stadium on Tuesday 4 February in the first coppa meeting between the two teams.

La Dea reached this stage of competition after destroying Serie B team Cesena, 6-1, while Red and Blues easily passed Monza with a 4-0 win.

Entering the last 16 against Cesena as a strong favorite, Atalanta took control from the start, with Davide Zappacosta opening the scoring in the fourth minute, followed by two goals from Charles De Ketelaere around Lazar Samardzic's goal in the 27th minute.

The massacre continued in the second half, where Marco Brescianini added his fifth goal, Samardzic scored his second goal, while Joseph Cesesay scored an entertainment goal at the end of the game as Dewi advanced to the next phase of the competition.

This marks Atalanta's fifth consecutive quarter-final appearance, having qualified in two of the previous four games to reach the final, where they were beaten 2-1 by Juventus in 2020-21 and 1-0 last season.

Blocking the Nerazzurri from equalizing last season's achievements was a Bologna team they have faced difficulties in recent times, failing to win a single of the last four meetings - despite all in the league - with three defeats and one draw.

Gian Piero Gasperini's men are heading for the game after a 1-1 draw against Torino in Serie A, a result that puts them third in the table, six points behind league leaders Napoli despite playing one more game.

Meanwhile, Bologna couldn't ask for a better time, as they would try to take advantage of La Dea's vulnerability in domestic competitions, with the hosts only winning one win in their last seven meetings.

Rossoblu himself performed better recently in Italy, winning two of their last three games, including a 2-0 win over Como last time, which lifted them to sixth in the Serie A standings.

The result also extended Red and Blues' unbeaten record in all competitions to seven games, consisting of three wins and four draws.

Bologna will try to bring this momentum to Tuesday's cup match as they aim to reach the semifinals for the first time since 1998-99, when they were eliminated by Fiorentina.

It should be noted that Vincenzo Italiano's team has now reached the quarter-finals in two consecutive seasons after proving too strong for Monza, who gave up under goals from Tommano Pobega, Riccardo Orsolini, Benjam banyak Domguez and Santiago Castro.

Atalanta has three injured players, with Giorgio Scalvini (bahu), Ademola Lookman (lutut) and Odilon Kossounou (hamstring), all missed Tuesday's match.

Castro may get a nod in front of Thijs Dallinga in the mid-attack, with former players expected to return to the starting lineup after starting from the bench against Como.
