Mandek's Career At Manchester, Rashford Says Goodbye To Aston Villa

JAKARTA Marcus Rashford reportedly said goodbye to his Manchester United colleagues on Saturday, February 1, following the completion of his loan agreement to Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old striker will strengthen Aston Villa in the second half of the 2024/2025 season. Previously, his move to Barcelona was canceled on Friday, before Villa finally emerged as the main candidate to recruit the England international.

Aston Villa's interest in Rashford came after the Birmingham club released their striker, Jhon Duran, to Al-Nassr. In this loan deal, Villa has the option to permanently sign him at the end of the season.

Rashford himself has not appeared for Manchester United since December 12. However, he has still scored seven goals and recorded three assists in 24 appearances with the Red Devils this season.

The decline in performance and his attitude which was considered less than optimal in training made Ruben Amorim's manager no longer included him in the team's main plan. Although Rashford was given the opportunity to improve himself, finally Manchester United chose to let him go.

If all the transfer processes run smoothly, Rashford will most likely make his debut with Aston Villa in the FA Cup fourth round match against Tottenham Hotspur on February 9, 2025.
