Gavi Signs New Contract At Barcelona Until 2030

Gavi has a term of service until 2030 at Barcelona (Instagram/@pablogavi).

JAKARTA - Barcelona midfielder Gavi has signed a new contract until 2030. The 20-year-old's contract will previously expire in 2026.

Gavi returned from a long injury on October 20, 2024, but had to wait until November 23, 2024 to appear as a starting player.

Since then, he has again proven himself to be a key player in Hansi Flick's midfield.

He was first in both games when Barcelona won the Spanish Super Cup in January 2025, including a 5-2 win over Real Madrid in the final.

Gavi joined Barcelona's academy from Real Betis at the age of 11 in 2015 before making his first-team debut at the age of 17 in 2021.

He quickly became a regular under Ronald Koeman and then Xavi Hernandez.

In that period, he made 96 appearances in his first two seasons with the first team, before suffering an ACL injury while serving with Spain in November 2023.

After undergoing a long rehabilitation process, he returned to training in September 2024 and finally got the green light to return to action in October 2024.

Gavi got off the bench and was greeted with lively applause as Barcelona beat Sevilla 5-1 at the Olympic Stadium.
