The U-20 Indonesian National Team Squad In The 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Will Be Announced In Early February

JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team coach, Indra Sjafri, will announce the squad for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup in early February 2025. This was done after he pocketed the results of the assessment of 28 players during the training camp (TC).

Although there are two names of players whose performance has not been seen carefully because they have not performed, Indra Sjafri admits that he has received a big picture for the final squad for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup.

"We have come to the conclusion from these 28 players, minus the two players we will try later (against India U-20)," said Indra Sjafri in his statement quoted from Antara on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

"Later, the final decision will be made on February 1, 2025 and announced on February 2, 2025. On February 3, 2025, all Asian Cup participating countries (U-20) must register 23 players, including three goalkeepers," he said again.

Before appearing in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup in mid-February 2025, the U-20 Indonesian national team had already undergone a training camp. On that agenda, a trial was also held in a mini tournament format.

The tournament in question is the Mandiri U-20 Challenge Series. The U-20 Indonesian national team has undergone two matches against Jordan U-20 and Syria U-20 in the tournament.

As a result, Indra Sjafri's team lost 0-1 against Jordan and lost 0-2 against Syria.

Even so, there is still the last match against India which will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 19.30 WIB. The agenda is a match to fight for third place in the final standings of the Mandiri U-20 Challenge Series 2025.

Currently, the U-20 Indonesian national team is in third position in the 2025 Mandiri U-20 Challenge Series because they have not pocketed points after losing against Jordan and Syria.

Meanwhile, the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup will start on February 13, 2025. The U-20 Indonesian national team is in Group C with Uzbekistan, Iran, and Yemen.
