JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR RI summoned the Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid to discuss land issues in a working meeting at the DPR Building today, Thursday, January 30. Member of Commission II of the DPR RI from the PKB faction, Mohammad Toha, reminded that sea fencing cases should not happen again.

Toha asked Minister Nusron to resolve 48 thousand land mafia cases in Indonesia. One of them is about sea fencing in the waters of Tangerang Regency, Banten.

According to him, land issues should be a serious concern for the Minister of ATR/BPN. This is because land issues have a very big impact and even harm the wider community. In particular, land conflicts between the community and the company.

"There are a number of important notes for the Minister of ATR/BPN in solving land problems. First, improving spatial data on land parcels that have not been optimal. The issue of land data must receive serious attention," Toha told reporters, Thursday, January 30.

Toha said that the improvement of spatial data on land parcels that has not been optimal can be caused by several things, such as not all Land Offices that make data improvements, data improvements are carried out sporadically, land infrastructure is limited, and there are still areas of land that have not been mapped.

"The second note is related to agrarian infrastructure that has not been addressed. The problems of agrarian infrastructure in Indonesia include agrarian conflicts, regulatory discrepancies, and an accurate lack of data," said Toha.

The PKB legislator for the Central Java V electoral district assessed that the agrarian conflict occurred due to inequality in ownership, control, and management of agrarian resources. Agrarian conflicts can be caused by overlapping government policies.

"Agrarian conflict can also be caused by land abuse and natural resource management. In addition, agrarian conflicts can be caused by human rights violations," he explained.

Third, continued Toha, related to the land mafia case. He said the land mafia case occurred because of the weak supervision, law enforcement, and lack of transparency. In addition, the land mafia also takes advantage of the community's neglect of the land they have.

"On November 14, 2024, Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid said there were 48,000 land mafia cases in Indonesia so far. 79 percent have been resolved," said the former Deputy Regent of Sukoharjo for the two 2000-2010 periods.

Toha said that the Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid must be able to explain from what year the data on the 48 thousand land mafia cases occurred. Because based on reports of complaints about the eradication of the land mafia by the Attorney General's Office in the period 2022 to 10 November 2023 alone, the AGO has received 669 reports of complaints related to the land mafia.

"79 percent of 48 thousand means 37,920. This means that there are still 10,080 cases of land mafia that have not been resolved. When will it be resolved? How many land mafia cases have the Minister of Nusron resolved? Does that number include cases of sea fencing in Tangerang? . Maritime restrictions should not be repeated again, "he explained.

In addition, added Toha, the problem of land status has not been certified in the disputed area of companies with non-certified land must also receive attention from the government.

"Then what will happen to customary land in the era of President Prabowo and how to relate conflict with indigenous peoples, especially by the AMAN group (Aliansi Masyarakat Adat Nusantara)," concluded Toha.
