DPR Leaves The Evaluation Of The Minister Of Education And Technology To President Prabowo

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, has fully handed over to President Prabowo Subianto to evaluate the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro.

This evaluation is related to the case of dismissal of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) at the Ministry of Education and Technology to physical and verbal violence by Satryo against his employees.

"We leave it to the government, in this case the President, who does have the authority to (evaluate, red) the ministers under him," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 23.

Dasco assessed that Commission X of the DPR would ask for clarity on the case in a working meeting with the Minister of Education and Technology, Saintek, which was held this afternoon.

"I think Commission X is right to ask for a meeting so that we can get clear information about what happened," explained the daily chairman of the Gerindra Party.

It is known, as many as 235 ASN Kemendikti Saintek held a demonstration against Minister Satryo at his office on Monday, January 20. This demonstration was held because Satryo was said to have dismissed one of his employees suddenly and only via WhatsApp.

In addition, ASNs also protested the rude attitude of the Minister of Education and Technology. The Professor of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) is said to often commit verbal to physical abuse and spread against his employees.
