Completed, Minister Dody Ensures Renovation Of The Kanjuruhan Stadium Meets FIFA Standards

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo ensured that the facilities at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, East Java, had met the standards of the parent world football organization, FIFA. It is hoped that the Kanjuruhan Stadium can be used as a place for international matches to be held.

This was conveyed by Dody when reviewing the renovation of the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang Regency, Saturday, January 18.

Dody said that all conditions of the Kanjuruhan Stadium had been directly reviewed by FIFA and the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) during the renovation process.

"The renovation of this stadium is carried out according to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) and has been checked for feasibility by FIFA," said Dody as quoted from his written statement.

With the fulfillment of FIFA standardization, Dody is optimistic that the Kanjuruhan Stadium can be used properly for the next 40 years.

"God willing, it will be worth using for the next 30-40 years. Everything has been repaired, it has been checked by FIFA," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the East Java Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) Airyn Saputri Harahap said the largest budget composition was used for structural strengthening.

This is because structurally it is not feasible, but cannot make total changes because it is one of the long history of the construction of the Kanjuruhan Stadium.

Functionally, he said, the structure must still be strengthened starting from micropiles, pilecaps, tiebeams, column jacketing and beam Jacketing.

"Furthermore, Gate 13 is not changed, but functions as a museum and a monument is also built to commemorate and remind so that dark events do not happen again," he concluded.

The renovation of the Kanjuruhan Stadium will be carried out from September 4, 2023 to December 31, 2024, with a budget of IDR 357 billion.

The stadium capacity of 21,603 seats is divided into Western Tribune and General Tribune. The Western Tribune consists of 108 seats VVIP, 2,465 VIP seats, 134 media seats and 16 disabled seats. The General Tribune consists of 4,352 seats in the east, north and south tribunes with 7,264 seats, respectively.
