Glodok Plaza Still Sweptting, Puslabfor Polri Can't Check TKP

JAKARTA - The National Police's Forensic Laboratory Center Team (Puslabfor) has not been able to enter Glodok Plaza to investigate the cause of the fire that hit a shopping center in West Jakarta.

The Puslabfor team, which has been on standby at the location from Thursday, January 16 to Friday, has not been able to enter the building because smoke is still rising on the 7th and 9th floors of the building.

"They can't enter because there is still a lot of smoke," said the Tamansari Metro Police Chief, AKBP Riyanto, ANTARA, Friday, January 17.

Based on the results of coordination with firefighters, said Riyanto, if today the condition of the building is conducive to enter, the Puslabfor Team will enter to investigate the cause of the fire.

"We have coordinated (with the fire department) if today we can enter, maybe the Labfor team can carry out an examination," he said.

Until now, the Puslabfor Team is still asking for building plans to make it easier for officers to come in to look for the victims. "From the results of the inspection, the hotspots were originally on the 9th floor," said Riyanto.

At that location at 16.00 WIB, the cooling process was still ongoing. Meanwhile, firefighters are still combing the area inside the burning building to find the victims who were reported missing.

Until now, 14 people have been reported missing, namely Ade Aryati (29), Sinta Amelia (20), Aldrinas (29), Aulia Belinda (28), Odima Yukari (25), Deri Saiki (25), Indira Seviana Bela (25) and Keren SALom J (21).

In addition, Intan Mutiara (26), Desty and Zukhi Radja (42), Chika Adinda Yustin (26), Muljadi (56) and Dian Cahyadi (38).

As of Friday afternoon, as many as five victims' bodies had been evacuated to the Police Hospital, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.
