The Lure Of A Big Salary Becomes The Modus Of A Gang Of TIP Actors To Invite Dozens Of People To Work Abroad

TANGERANG - The police revealed the modus operandi of the 7 perpetrators to recruit 25 victims of the crime of trafficking in persons (TPPO), namely by providing the lure of a large salary.

It is known that the police have arrested the 7 perpetrators with the initials R (7), DSK (54), IA (36), K (33), AT (34), AD (24) and LS (43). It was recorded that they were arrested from October 2024-January 2025.

Soetta Airport Police Chief Kombes Ronald Sipayung said the 25 victims were dispatched to various countries with different types of jobs. The aims are United Arab Emirates, Oman, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand.

"The modes conveyed are that they promise to be able to work abroad, both as store employees, household assistants, with the lure of salaries between 6 million and 20 million," Ronald told reporters at the Soetta Airport Police, Thursday, January 16.

In the process of his departure, he said the victims were asked to pay for the administration. The reason is for the management of visas to passports.

"On average, each person deposits Rp40-60 million. Then these suspects, as stated, earn an average of Rp2 million to Rp8 million from Rp40-60 million," he said.

However, upon arrival they arrived at the location, said Ronald, these victims actually got a long-awaited salary they hoped for. There were even victims who got violence from their superiors.

"But the fact is that when it reaches the destination country, what is promised to get a job with a nominal value of the salary is not obtained. In fact, it is not uncommon for these victims to become victims of violence. Maybe they are not given their rights, at the time of illness they are not assisted for treatment, or maybe even abandoned abroad," he said.

Previously, the police revealed the roles of the 7 perpetrators in recruiting dozens of victims to be employed abroad.

"As well as LS as the recruiter of victims. So they are recruiters of illegal PMI candidates and help the departure process unprocedurally," he continued.

He revealed that there were 25 TIP victims obtained from various regions, such as West Java, Central Java to Jakarta. The highest number came from West Java. West Java 12, East Java 4, North Java 4, Jakarta 3 and Central Java 2 people," he said.
