YOGYAKARTA Profile of Yustinus Prastowo is interesting to discuss especially after he joined the elected Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor Pramono-Rano Karno transition team. Before deciding to join, Yustinus Prastowo was better known as Special Staff to the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.

Yustinus Prastowo was born on April 4, 1970. He is from Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. The education that Yustinus took to high school was also taken in the same district.

Yustinus' Bachelor's Education (S1) was obtained from the State Accounting College (STAN). Meanwhile, he took Master's (S2) education at the Postgraduate University of Indonesia to focus on Administrative Science and Public Policy. In its official website. Yustinus Prastowo started his career in finance as a civil servant (PNS) at the Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance from 1997 to 2010. He also had time to become an employee at several consulting offices.

In 2014, Prastowo was then founded the Center for Indonesia Taxation Analysis (CITA) and held the position of Executive Director. Please note, CITA is an independent tax study institution that is intended to mainstream issues related to tax policies.

Yustinus Prastowo's track record is quite a lot himself. He even became a permanent resource person for the Fiscal Sector in the National Resilience Council, BIN, Commission XI of the DPR RI, DPD RI, KEIN, Bappenas, Presidential Advisory Council, KPK, Bank Indonesia.

In addition, he is also an expert in taxation at the Constitutional Court (MK), the Supreme Court (MA), and the Indonesian Ombudsman. He is also an advisor in the Tax Reform Team of the Ministry of Finance and a Member of the Ministry of Finance's Customs and Excise Reform Strengthening Team.

With this track record, Yustinus is not a new person at the Ministry of Finance. He was then appointed Special Staff to the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani in 2020.

The position was finally released after Yustinus Prastowo decided to join the Financial Technical Division Team Pramono Anung-Rano Karno. Thus, Yustinus' Staff position is held for approximately 4.5 years.

Regarding Yustunus joining his financial team, Pramono Anung has confirmed it to reporters.

"Financial fields may be partially familiar because we really want to get a critical view from the former staff, especially the Minister of Finance, namely Yustinus Prastowo's brother," explained Pramono Anung at the Pullman Hotel, West Jakarta, Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Yustinus also gave a signal that he was released from the government through his Instagram social media account.

"I chose to work outside the government and will continue the activities I had planned in advance," he explained.
