JAKARTA - A large kedondong tree suddenly fell on Jalan Tambun Rengas Kampung Gempol, RT 12/01, East Cakung Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta, Tuesday, December 10.

As a result of the incident, a car and motorbike were damaged by a fallen tree. In addition, the aerial cable at the location was also damaged by falling trees.

"The cause is suspected to be due to a weathered tree plus strong winds," said Head of the Data and Information Management Unit of the DKI Jakarta Provincial BPBD Data and Information Center, Kristian Gottam Sihombing to VOI.

Gottam said the kedondong tree fell, blocking residents' access. Fallen trees also damaged 1 pickup car, 1 motorbike and cable.

In addition, one resident was also a victim due to the rotten fallen tree.

"The victim was injured by a resident with the initials HZ (60). The victim suffered injuries to his hands and face and has been treated at the East Cakung Health Center," he said.

As a result of the fallen tree incident, the total loss is estimated at IDR 50 million.
