Check 13 Members Of Garut Satpol PP Support Gibran, Garut Bawaslu Search For Orders

JABAR - The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) suspects that there are the main actors who have acted to order 13 members of the Garut Satpol PP to make a video of support for the vice presidential candidate number 02, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"One of them (who ordered it)," said Head of Garut Bawaslu Ahmad Nurul Syahid to reporters in Garut, Wednesday, January 10, confiscated by Antara.

He said that Garut Bawaslu is currently conducting an examination of all members of the Garut Satpol PP who are in the video in stages, including who will record it later, and distribute it.

The examination, he said, not only asked for information regarding the neutrality of Garut Satpol PP members, but to find out who ordered them to make a video expressing support to one of the vice presidential candidates.

"Earlier, we suspected that the recording was by way of being stored, it turned out that there were 14 people who recorded it, namely 13 people who were in the video with the person who recorded it, so 14 people, so we have confirmed that," he said.

He conveyed another examination of members of the Garut Satpol PP regarding the reasons for making videos at government facilities that were not allowed to occur, especially if it was carried out by members of the Satpol PP.

"We will explore the whole thing, the first is starting from government facilities," he said.

He said the Garut Satpol PP member case was suspected in two articles, namely Article 280 (3) in conjunction with Article 494 and Article 283 of Law 7/2017 concerning Elections with the threat of imprisonment of 1 year and a fine of Rp. 12 million.

Regarding them, their status is not ASN but contract workers, he said, according to the rules in the SKB 5 Minister that the status of contract workers, or honorary, for example, is still the same as that of ASN with the threat of one year in prison and a fine of Rp. 12 million.

"It is treated the same as ASN," he said.

Previously, the case of members of the Garut Satpol PP had been handled by the leadership elements at the institution, and their status was not ASN or PPPK, but contract workers, even so they were still given sanctions for not serving and did not get a maximum salary of three months and a minimum of one month.

Meanwhile, a 19-second video showing a number of members of the Garut Satpol PP declared themselves to be supportive of the vice president Gibran spread across a number of social media and WhatsApp Groups of the Garut community.
