JAKARTA - Ari Bias' lawsuit against Agnez Mo has been partially granted by the panel of judges at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court.

The ruling states that Agnez Mo has committed a violation of Copyright, and sentenced the 38-year-old singer to pay a loss fine of IDR 1.5 billion.

However, the decision does not mean that Agnez Mo's problem is over. Minola Sebayang as Ari Bias' attorney stated that his client's report at Bareskrim Polri was still ongoing.

"This criminal process is still ongoing. During this time, maybe Bareskrim has not found it, this is a very rare legal action," said Minola, during a press conference in Fatmawati, South Jakarta, Monday, February 3.

"There may be pros and cons of opinion, but with this (perdata) decision, even if they have further efforts, this is already a bright spot that there has indeed been a violation of Copyright, Agnez Mo's song Ari Bias is performed in concerts, does not ask for permission, while live concerts are commercial, there are payments made by the organizers to Agnez Mo," he continued.

Minola believes that the decision of the Commercial Court which states that Agnez Mo has committed a violation of Copyright can be the basis for police investigators to make the singer of 'Party In Bali' as a suspect.

"So with this condition, there should be no more doubt (for) investigators to raise Agnez Mo's status as a suspect, and legal proceedings will run according to Article 113 (the Law on Copyright)," he said.

However, Minola stated that his client was still open to restorative justice, if Agnez Mo showed good faith by paying a loss fine according to a civil decision.

"But if there is good faith then, there is restorative justice, and he carries out the contents of the decision by paying the fine. So maybe Ari Bias can forgive him and withdraw his report," said Minola.

"But we'll see first the developments and attitudes that Agnez Mo will take," he concluded.
