Long Holiday, Jasa Marga Records 569,000 Vehicles Leaving Jabotabek

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk JSMR noted, as many as 569,462 vehicles had left the Jabotabek area during the Friday-Sunday period (24-26 January) during the long holidays of Isra Miraj and the 2025 Chinese New Year.

This figure is the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from four barrier / main toll gates, namely GT Cikupa (towards Merak), GT Ciawi (towards Puncak), GT Cikampek Utama (towards Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (towards Bandung).

"The total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 29.4 percent compared to normal traffic, which is 440,182 vehicles," said Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana in a written statement, Monday, January 27.

For the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek towards all three directions, namely the majority of 299,568 vehicles (52.6 percent) heading East (Trans Java and Bandung), 141,917 vehicles (24.9 percent) heading West (Merak) and 127,977 vehicles (22.5 percent) heading South (Puncak).

In detail, traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta Toll Road Cikampek with a total of 154,446 vehicles, an increase of 80.3 percent from normal traffic.

Untuk lalin meninggalkan Jabotabek menuju arah Bandung melalui GT Kalihurip Utama Jalan Tol Cipularang dengan jumlah 145.122 kendaraan atau meningkat sebesar 35.8 persen dari lalin normal.

"The total traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java and Bandung through the two GTs was 299,568 vehicles, an increase of 55.6 percent from normal traffic," he said.

Then, traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Merak via the Cikupa GT Tangerang Toll Road Merak reached 141,917 vehicles, an increase of 1.5 percent from normal traffic.

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek heading towards Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road was 127,977 vehicles, an increase of 18.6 percent from normal traffic.

Lisye reminded that the peak return flow for the long holiday period of Isra Miraj and the 2025 Chinese New Year is predicted to occur on Wednesday, January 28.

"We again urge road users to avoid travel at the predicted time to peak backflow and avoid traveling at their favorite times, such as morning and evening," said Lisye.

"We also urge road users to anticipate travel considering the predictions of medium to high rainfall predicted by the BMKG will occur from January to February 2025," he continued.

In anticipating a surge in traffic volume, Jasa Marga is committed to supporting the implementation of the Joint Decree (SKB) regarding restrictions on operational transportation of goods that have been implemented from Friday, January 24 at 00.00 local time until Saturday, January 25 at 24.00 local time and will be carried out again on Wednesday, January 29 at 00.00 to 24.00 local time at a number of Jasa Marga Group toll roads.

Jasa Marga also always coordinates with the police for the application of contraflow traffic engineering, whose implementation time is based on consideration from the police based on traffic conditions on each national road section.
