JAKARTA - PT Yili Indonesia Dairy (YID), through its flagship ice cream product JOYDAY, further strengthens its penetration in the global market. In 2024, Yili recorded export value of more than US$3 million through exports of ice cream to 19 countries in Asia, the Middle East, to Africa. This marks that Yili is committed to launching quality JoyDAY ice cream products to global consumers while achieving success in the local Indonesian market.

President Director of PT Yili Indonesia Dairy, Yu Miao said, to further increase competitiveness in the international market, JOYDAY continues to be committed to improving product quality according to national and international standards, through the implementation of the Olahaan Food Safety Management System (SMKPO) in every product distributor and active participation in various international events and the development of global business partnerships.

"This is one of JOYDAY's strategic steps that will continue to be improved in order to expand the market and build a reputation as a provider of high-quality products at the world level," he said, in a written statement, Thursday, January 23.

Based on BPOM regulation No. 21 of 2021, although distributors are not required to have SMKPO certification, they remain responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of products according to applicable management standards. With the implementation of SMKPO, products sold through distributors will have more value, because the distribution process has met the recognized food safety requirements.

Currently, some of Yili's warehouses in Sumatra, Bangka, and Java have succeeded in obtaining SMKPO certification. This is clear evidence of Yili's commitment to providing products that are safe, quality, and in accordance with national and international market needs.

Not only that, efforts to ensure the quality of JAYDAY products have also been implemented at the JOYDAY factory located in Cikarang, West Java. Currently, the JAYDAY factory has a quality management system that is responsible for and has obtained FSSC 22000 certification which is recognized by The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). In addition, this factory has also received a Risk Management Program (PMR) certification from the POM of the Republic of Indonesia and all variants of JOYDAY have been registered with the POM and certified HALAL by the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH).

"In addition to prioritizing the quality to penetrate the international network, we are also maximizing the existing production capacity. JOYDAY is produced through high quality standards in a 17 hectare factory facility with a production capacity of more than 100 tons of ice cream per day. Currently, the national distribution of JOYDAY itself has covered 38 provinces in Indonesia and is available in traditional, modern and online markets," said Yu Miao.

JoyDAY also continues to be committed to developing innovations for new variants that are more in line with consumer needs in various markets, including new, more varied and unique variants based on trends and tastes both local and international.

"We believe that continuing to innovate and maintain the quality of the products that we distribute to all consumers will have an impact on the expansion of our market, not only in Indonesia but also for our foreign consumers. We are optimistic that we can expand our wings for the ice cream industry," concluded Yu Miao.
