JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto welcomes the local government (Pemda) to be involved in funding the Free Nutrition Food program (MBG) activities.

"Then the local government also wants to participate in the governors, the regent wants to participate in monggo," Prabowo told reporters in Jakarta, Thursday, January 16.

He said his party was open to anyone who wanted to make the MBG program a success.

"We will open anyone who wants to participate, yes, the important thing is to be efficient on target and there is no leak,"

Prabowo said that the focus of the program is to give every child a meal this year.

"I think there are administrators who take care of zakat, but what is clear from our government is that we are ready for all Indonesian children to be fed in 2025," he said.

Previously, the Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) Sultan B. Najamuddin suggested that the zakat funds collected in Indonesia be used to finance the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG).

According to Sultan, the huge potential of zakat funds can be a solution to support the sustainability of this MBG program.

"How can we encourage the general public to be involved in this free nutritious food program? One way is to use our zakat funds. With great zakat potential, the government does not need to work alone using a limited budget," said Sultan, Wednesday in his interest, Tuesday, January 14.

Sultan emphasized that the MBG Program financing cannot only depend on the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). This is because the state budget has limitations and must still be allocated for various other priority programs.

Therefore, the Sultan invited the public to actively participate, including through zakat funds.

"Under the administration of Pak Prabowo and Mas Gibran, we want this free nutritious eating program to run optimally. However, we know that the state budget cannot be completely allocated to this program alone," explained Sultan.
