3 Indian Citizens Perpetrators Of Scamming Arrested In Bali

DENPASAR - The Immigration Office of Denpasar, Bali, together with related agencies arrested three foreign nationals (WNA) from India who were suspected of committing online fraud (scamming). The victims came from India and were controlled from the Island of the Gods with a loss of Rp. 5 billion.

This is a form of law enforcement for foreigners who do not provide benefits to Bali, "Head of the Regional Office of the Bali Immigration Directorate General of Parlindungan, Tuesday, February 4.

The three Indian foreigners are all men with the initials P and DK, both of whom have a residence permit with the type of visa upon arrival (Visa On Arrival) which is valid until February 20 and 11, 2025, respectively.

Then, the initials SK has a limited residence permit for investors with a validity period of until July 15, 2026.

The three foreigners were arrested by the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Team (Inteljakim) Denpasar Immigration together with officers from the Strategic Intelligence Agency (Bais), the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) and the Bali Police on January 23, 2025.

They were arrested at a house on Jalan Tukad Balian Gang IV Sidakarya, South Denpasar.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Denpasar Immigration Office, Ridha Sah Putra, explained that they arrived in Bali in mid-January 2025.

The modus operandi of the three men, he continued, was to commit online fraud targeting victims from India who were in the country who wanted to go to Canada.

From the results of the examination, he continued, there were nine victims who were also Indian foreigners by cheating as if visas, tickets and other documents to enter Canada had been completed.

Then, the victims will be contacted by means of a video call to convince the victims and ask for a transfer of some money.

"They are trying to trick them so they are not tracked down if they are carried out in Bali," said Ridha.
