JAKARTA - The police arrested six people who were involved in a brawl in Jambi City. The perpetrators of this brawl carried sharp weapons (sajam) of the samurai type.
South Jambi Police Chief, Jambi City, AKP Helawaty Siregar said, of the six people, there were five perpetrators who were minors.
While one other perpetrator is 19 years old and carries a samurai-type sharp weapon.
The five brawlers, he said, were junior high and high school students. Furthermore, one 19-year-old perpetrator will be further prosecuted.
Helawaty expressed concern over the involvement of school children in the brawl.
"This is not our pride, this is sadness, they are our children," he said in Jambi, Tuesday, February 4, as reported by Antara.
The brawl incident on Sunday, February 2 in the morning, started with a dispute and mocked each other between schools which eventually triggered a meeting to hold a brawl.
This incident occurred in the Jerambah Bolong area, South Lingkar Village, Paal Merah, Jambi City.
The police chief emphasized that the perpetrators who had taken the cellphone belonging to the previously secured youth pata were expected to immediately return it.
"I've saved your name, please turn yourself in to the police station," he said.
