Foreign Minister Sugiono Emphasized The Importance Of Israeli State Unity To Support Palestine's Independence

JAKARTA - Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono emphasized the importance of the unity of Islamic countries to support Palestinian independence and bilateral cooperation when receiving the Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia Mohammad Boroujer on Monday.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement wrote, Indonesia and Iran are in the same position regarding the full independence of the Palestinian liberation.

"The Indonesian Foreign Minister and the Iranian Ambassador emphasized the importance of the unity of Islamic countries in supporting Palestinian independence," the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote in a statement as quoted on February 4.

"The two countries share the same principles regarding Palestine and base their position on the full independence and liberation of Palestine," the ministry said.

Lebih jauh dijelaskan, Menlu Sugiono dan Ambassador Boroujerdi membahas penguatan kerja sama bilateral di berbagai bidang strategis, khususnya dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan dan energi nasional, perdagangan, dan investasi.

Foreign Minister Sugiono is pushing for the use of Iran's progress in the field of nanotechnology and biotechnology to develop agricultural technology that can support food security.

In addition, Foreign Minister Sugiono and Ambassador Boroujerdi also discussed the potential for cooperation in energy security, including investment in renewable energy.

So far, Indonesia and Iran have also had quite advanced cooperation in the health sector, including through the construction of the Robotic Telesurgery Center and the development of telemedicine in various regions in Indonesia.

In this regard, Foreign Minister Sugiono and Ambassador Boroujerdi discussed the opportunity for educational cooperation for Indonesian health workers to learn health technology in Iran.

Meanwhile, regarding the increase in tourism cooperation, Foreign Minister Sugiono and Ambassador Boroujerdi discussed the opening of direct flight routes between the two countries.

It is known that Indonesia and Iran commemorated 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries this year.

Both Foreign Minister Sugiono and Ambassador Boroujerdi appreciated the various achievements of existing cooperation, expecting further progress under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and President Masoud Pezeshkian.
