JAKARTA The Constitutional Court (MK) officially approved the revocation of the request for dispute over the results of the 2024 Central Java Pilkada proposed by candidate pairs for governor and deputy governor number 1, Andika Perkasa and Hendrar Prihadi (Andika-Hendi).
"We hereby determine and grant the revocation of case application number 263/PHPU.GUB-XXIII/2025. The request has been withdrawn," said the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Suhartoyo, in a verdict hearing in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 4, quoted from ANTARA.
Suhartoyo explained that in the Hakim Consultative Meeting (RPH) which was held on January 30, 2025, the withdrawal of the lawsuit filed by Andika-Hendi was considered legal legally. Thus, the Constitutional Court ratifies the revocation of the case.
"With this decision, the applicant cannot re-submit the same case," he added.
Previously, Andika-Hendi had signed a letter of revocation of the lawsuit on January 13, 2025, which was then submitted at the Constitutional Court hearing on January 20, 2025.
The couple's attorney, Mulyadi Marks Phillian, stated that the decision to withdraw the lawsuit was taken in order to maintain stability and harmony in Central Java.
"This revocation is carried out to maintain conduciveness in Central Java, whose people uphold harmony and unity. We hope that, with this step, the political tensions that have occurred over the last two years due to elections and regional elections can subside, so that we can reunite to build Central Java," said Mulyadi.
Before being withdrawn, Andika-Hendi's lawsuit had already rolled out at the Constitutional Court. In the inaugural trial which was held on January 9, 2025, their legal team submitted a number of arguments and petitums.
The lawsuit initially asked the Constitutional Court to cancel Central Java KPU Decree Number 200 of 2024 regarding the results of the Pilkada, which determined the victory of candidate pair number 2, Ahmad Luthfi and Taj Yasin.
In addition, Andika-Hendi also demanded that the Constitutional Court disqualify the Luthfi-Yasin pair as winners of the 2024 Pilkada and asked the Central Java KPU to appoint them as elected governors and deputy governors.
