Gerindra Anniversary Peak Held February 15, Will Invite Megawati

JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that the peak celebration of the 17th anniversary of the Gerindra Party will be held on February 15.

It is planned that at the peak of the celebration, his party will invite former presidents of the Republic of Indonesia including the 5th President Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"We have a celebration event maybe on February 15, we will hold an event. Previously, on the 14th, God willing, if so, the leadership of parties throughout Indonesia will hold a national leadership meeting and the peak celebration on February 15", said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 4.

"Until now, I have not received any information from the committee, maybe later this afternoon, but we have indeed invited former presidents to attend the Gerindra Party Anniversary celebration," he continued.

Dasco admitted that he did not know whether there would be a moment of meeting with the President of the Republic of Indonesia and General Chairperson of Gerindra Prabowo Subianto with Megawati. What is clear, said Dasco, as a former president, is that the PDIP General Chair will be invited.

"I don't know yet, because we both know that Mrs. Mega is also no longer in the country at this time. We also don't know when she will return. (But) All invited, all former presidents are invited," said Dasco.
