JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak targets to build 1,600 water points this year so that the total water points reach 5,000 points.

"I think 1,600 and we can do it this year with a total of 5,000 water points," Maruli said during a press conference after the TNI AD leadership meeting at Balai Kartini, Jakarta, Monday, February 3.

According to Maruli, his party has built around 3,400 water points throughout Indonesia. This is done to make it easier for people to get clean water in places that are difficult to water.

Maruli has successfully built the 3,400 points since he was still serving at the Pangdam level.

Maruli admitted that this achievement was not only due to the performance of the Indonesian Army.

He admitted that he received a lot of assistance from the private sector who wanted to donate to the construction of water points as a form of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Maruli also believes that assistance from CSR and businesses from the Indonesian Army itself can realize the construction of 1,600 water points during 2025.

With the construction of this water point, Maruli hopes that people throughout Indonesia will no longer have difficulty getting access to clean air.

The Army Chief of Staff also hopes that this water point can be used by the community for agricultural and plantation needs so that food security is created in all regions.

"Hopefully the construction of this water point can become a government program," explained Maruli.
