JAKARTA - Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal TNI Mohamad Tonny Harjono revealed that the Airbus A400M heavy transport aircraft is scheduled to arrive in the country in November 2025.

"The plane arrival plan is if nothing changes, in November. Then, later in 2026," said Tonny as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 3.

The KSAU said the aircraft would be placed in the Air Squadron 31/Heavily Transported at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta.

The KSAU explained that the facilities and infrastructure at Halim Air Base had begun to be renovated, including its logistics warehouse. He also said the Indonesian Air Force was preparing software and personnel as part of anticipating the arrival of the Airbus A400M.

"We will temporarily use the former Mako Wing 1. Meanwhile, if there is a budget for the construction of a hangar, the Air Force will prepare its own hangar because the hangar is large enough, the aircraft is quite large," he said.

The aircraft will be used as a strategic heavy transport, so not every time they carry out routine flights.

"If it will be strategic later, it will be large in nature, it will be usable, the A400M aircraft," he explained.

Later the Indonesian Air Force will further study and review the use of Airbus A400M aircraft.
