Gerindra Invites Megawati To Jokowi To Attend The Anniversary On February 15

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Gerindra Party DPP Ahmad Muzani invited all former presidents to come to attend the 17th Anniversary (HUT) of the Gerindra Party which is scheduled for February 15.

Muzani said that all former presidents, including the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, who is also the General Chair of the PDIP to the 7th President Joko Widodo, were invited to the event.

"All leaders of political parties, especially the general chairman, will be invited. God willing, we will invite all former presidents," said Muzani after giving a press statement at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday, February 3, as reported by ANTARA.

When asked about the possibility of President Prabowo Subianto's meeting who is also the Gerindra chairman with Megawati, Muzani answered that Megawati was abroad.

Megawati is currently at the Vatican with DPR Speaker Puan Maharani and other PDIP officials to attend the World Leaders Summit on Children's Rights. Megawati is also scheduled to hold a special meeting with Pope Francis at the event.

"Mrs. Mega is abroad again. She doesn't know yet," said Muzani when asked about the possibility of meeting Megawati and Prabowo at the Gerindra Anniversary.

Peringatan HUT Gerindra pada 6 Februari rencananya akan digelar sederhana dengan acara tumpeng. Muzani belum dapat memastikan lokasi potongan tumpeng tersebut pada 6 Februari, atau lokasi perayaan HUT partai pada 15 Februari.

"God willing, the Gerindra Party's birthday activities at the national level will be held on February 15 which was preceded by a national leadership meeting on February 14, and the 15th is its 17th birthday," said Muzani.
