Lost On Mount Joglo, Climber Mapala UHAMKA Jakarta Found Dead

BOGOR- The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bogor Regency, West Java, stated that a climber named Mohamad Rohadi (21) who was reported missing in Gunung Joglo, Cisarua District, had been found dead.

Head of the Bogor Regency BPBD Emergency and Logistics Division Adam Hamdani revealed that Mohamad Rohadi, a member of the Muhammadiyah University of South Jakarta Student Association (UHAMKA), was found on the second day of the search.

"It was found dead at 09.41 WIB on Saturday, February 1, 2025 in the Pariuk Curug flow face down," said Adam.

Based on the results of the Bogor Regency BPBD analysis, the victim may have fallen or been dragged because the hiking trail was covered in fog and rain was caused by extreme weather. Moreover, the terrain has many ravines and valleys.

Adam explained, initially Rohadi and the Imapala Uhamka team conducted Basic Education (Diksar) on Wednesday (29/1) at 18.00 WIB. At that time, one of the seniors as a sweeper, Akbar did the final check. However, when the senior returned to the point of separation, Rohadi was gone.

At that time, Akbar thought Rohadi had already come down from the mountain. However, after checking down, the entire group was already there except for Rohadi. Rohadi was also declared missing.

The Bogor Regency BPBD received a report of a missing person on Mount Joglo on Friday (31/1) at around 15.30 WIB and immediately carried out a search operation.

The search operation was carried out on the first day until 23.30 WIB and continued the next day at 08.00 WIB, not long after, Rohadi's body was found at 09.41 WIB.
