Reflection On The End Of The Term Of Office Of The Mayor Of Cilegon Helldy Agustian

JAKARTA - In the Plenary Meeting of the Cilegon City DPRD which was held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, the Mayor of Cilegon, Helldy Agustian delivered his closing speech on his term of office. The event which took place at 10.00 WIB was attended by various stakeholders, including local government officials, DPRD, Forkopimda, and community representatives.

In his speech, the Mayor of Helldy Agustian expressed his gratitude and gratitude for the support of all elements of society for less than four years leading the City of Cilegon. He emphasized that the various achievements that have been achieved are the result of the cooperation and collaboration of all parties.

Achievement Of Infrastructure Development

During his tenure, the Mayor of Helldy Agustian focused on infrastructure development to realize the vision of a modern and dignified New Cilegon.

Several strategic projects that have been successfully implemented include:

The construction of railroad doors, MUI Building, MSME facilities, new hospitals, and four new State Junior High Schools.Based on the repair of the South Ring Road (JLS) with the assistance of funds amounting to Rp112 billion from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, as well as an additional Rp26 billion budget for further development.

Environmental Innovation And Waste Processing

The city of Cilegon is the first area in Indonesia to have a solid Jumputan Fuel waste processing plant (BBJP) grant from PLN worth almost Rp. 10 billion. In addition, the plan for assistance from the World Bank of Rp. 102 billion for the expansion of waste processing is in process.

Improved Quality Of Human Resources

Human resource development is also a top priority. Some of the programs that have been implemented include:

Scholarship full for 4,000 recipients spread across various state universities in Indonesia, 24 private universities in Banten, as well as in Yemen and Egypt.

The success of Universal Health Coverage (UHC)

Cilegon City managed to achieve a 99.71% Universal Health Coverage (UHC) coverage, ensuring all residents have full access to quality health services.

The Role Of Cilegon At The National And Regional Levels

The city of Cilegon is increasingly recognized at the national and regional levels. This city is trusted to be the Chair of the Regional Commissariat 3 APEKSI which includes DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, and DI Yogyakarta, as well as the National Secretary of AKKOPSI which consists of 362 districts/cities in Indonesia. Other achievements include winning 1st place in the innovation competition in NTB and 2nd place in Lampung.

The Mayor of Helldy Agustian admitted that Cilegon City is currently facing a budget deficit due to the implementation of regional elections and ongoing programs. However, local governments continue to seek solutions to ensure the welfare of the community, including regional honorariums for religious teachers.

With humility, the Mayor of Helldy Agustian apologized for all the shortcomings during his term of office and hoped that the government would further continue development and improve services to the community.

"Life is more than just a game, it's a challenge that demand resistance, fairness, joy, and friendship. We are all partners in the growth and development of the City of Cilegon. Hopefully what we have done will become a charity and bring continued benefits to all of us," said Mayor Helldy Agustian closing his speech.
